Chowing Down On the Bounty of Farmer Chris and Siena Farms

August 6, 2009

Farmer Chris and his team at Siena Farms – mainstays of Boston’s Copley Square Farmer’s Market – offer a rainbow of their organic and sustainable harvest on Market Days.  The Oldways Team rarely misses the ten-minute walk over there to shoot the breeze with these farmers and fill up recycled shopping bags with the gorgeous bounty of his Siena Farms, named his daughter Siena (also daughter of Chef Ana Sortun).

This is part of one visit’s haul — sweet corn and sweet gnarly carrots — ready to be boiled, drizzled with aromatic olive oil, dusted with fresh ground pepper and sea salt, sprinkled with a squirt of soy sauce, and savored with a robust Australian chardonnay.
