Calvados – Silky, Fiery, Wondrous

Calvados is an apple brandy from the French region of Lower Normandy. Spirits, say many people, “are just too strong.”  Aah, but what pleasure they’re missing!  A favored drink revered by great gastronomes and by successful movers and shakers, in bottles that rattle in the trolleys of great restaurants with the after-dinner choice offerings of their gastronome owners.  And there is no better spirit than Calvados, the royalty of spirits made in Normandy from its famous apples.  Its organoleptics are astounding! (ALISON EDIT: “Organoleptic” refers to any sensory properties of a product, involving taste, colour, odour and feel. Because knowledge is power!)
